DIY Industrial coatrack...

Last week I have been making a new coat rack for my hall. I am very happy with my DIY'ing and think it looks really nice and even a bit industrial.

The previous one was painted with blackboard paint and it was getting a bit old  *I had this time I used a lot of blackboard paint but it is not always the right paint for everything*  Some weeks ago I finally got myself some galvanized steel pipe fittings to make a new coat rack. These fittings are used to create structural connections for building railing and other structures but you can make real great things with them. I attached the pipe between two walls next to the main entrance.

The little green baskets are originally for plants and I bought them at Merci in Paris last summer. Ever since I saw them I had this idea of hanging them and put my scarfs in them. (still thinking if I should turn them the other way around though)  Once.... I have undone the walls from wallpaper in this corner I might make an even bigger one and I am thinking of a clothes rack on wheels for the bedroom as well.

Vorige week ben ik bezig geweest met een nieuwe kapstok, de vorige was een eenvoudige metalen buis, geschilderd met zwarte schoolborverf *heel leuk maar niet erg slijtvast* Dus eindelijk mijn lang gekoesterde wens om er een van steigerbuis te maken eens uitgevoerd. Lekker stoer en een beetje industrieel.

De kleine groene mandjes zijn eigenlijk licht gewicht plantenpotjes voor op een dakterras die ik vorig jaar bij Merci in Paris heb gekocht. Toen ik ze daar zag kreeg ik het idee om ze aan steigerbuis te hangen als opbergplek voor sjaaltjes e.d. Als ik het behang in deze hoek van de muur heb gehaald ga ik een nog iets uitgebreidere uitvoering maken en een kleding rek op wielen staat ook nog in de planning.
