Both pictures above..... different atmospheres, colours and materials. So many different styles and I like them all.. One thing they always seem to have in common. a certain simplicity and soberness. (1st and 3rd picture are from Stellan Herner, the other two from the book Essentially French)

Ik hou erg van deze stijl, dat zou natuurlijk niet werken in mijn huisje maar geweldig om de plaatjes te bekijken.
Fijn dat er altijd iets te wensen over blijft. Naar kijken en stil genieten. Mooi hoor.

I just love all of it, as usual !!!! I said in my post, today, that we have just finished painting three rooms in Farrow and Ball off-whites, but the finished article never seems to look like the rooms in books and magazines !!!! Any ideas why ? You seem to get that wonderful finished look. I think it might be because it's mine and I see it all the time. ....but I do get lots of inspiration from your posts. Thank you so much. Hahaha, kom ik aan met m'n kanten kleedjes, kaarsjes en allerlei truttigheidjes! Maar dit vind ik ook mooi hoor, om te zien. Dat maakt wonen nou juist zo leuk, al die stijlen en al die manieren waarop mensen hun eigen nest creëren. Ik geloof wel dat ik dit echt helemaal bij jou vind passen!

i, too, like fading colours so much! unfortunately, it is rare to find such beauty like that in our japanese home settings. the ordinary japanese usually don't find shabby things chic or pretty. sad. that's why i long for foreign countries?
